Welp, what better way to begin the new year than starting to review the last issue (so far) of one of my all-time favorite comic series. Let’s get cracking. 🤗
The first thing I notice is that Marci is back as the artist. 😄 It’s great to see the original artist return to the series again, especially since she gets the opportunity to capture characters both old and new to the series. Still, I do miss Dormy’s unique take on the Ashton Hall crew from last issue, but to have Marci return and bring her signature blend of energy and cuteness to the series is certainly a treat in of itself.
As for the premise of the guys going to Hawaii, it’s certainly unexpected given how the last issue ended. The setting of Ashton Hall and the University of Canterbury have both played major roles in illustrating how the characters are able to explore themselves and deal with confrontations in the transformative atmosphere that colleges are known for within the public conscienceness. To see the boys leave their college campus and go off to do their padded adventures in a brand new locale should certainly shake things up to say the least. 🤔
Lastly, I’m seeing some new faces in the cast, but I’m am also noticing the a few old faces missing as well. That’s understandable as not everyone can pay to have their characters appear in every issue of this series. Still, for all of old faces that are no longer present, you guys made Ashton Hall once heck of a ride and I am forever grateful for seeing your awesome OCs in Karis’s story. 🤗
Alright, enough of the old, time for the new! Let’s see what crazy adventures await our boys in the next issue! 😉
I like to go>
What should I bring?
So shall I bring extra padding and clothes?
